What this reference can support

CarOBDCodes is an independent reference, not a vehicle manufacturer or an inspection authority. A code entry describes a recorded condition. It does not establish the failed part, repair price or safety of a particular vehicle.

Legacy definitions and explanatory guides

We preserve the original directory data, including conflicting manufacturer variants where available. Not every legacy entry has an independently verified primary source. We do not add a “verified” badge or invent a mechanic reviewer for those entries. Expanded guides identify their sources, jurisdiction and date; a source link is not a claim of official endorsement.

AI assistance and publication

AI may assist research and drafting. Scheduled model output remains a private draft until the publishing checks are satisfied. Editors must verify the content and its applicability, cite supporting material and identify the actual reviewer. AI assistance is not a substitute for vehicle-specific service information or a hands-on inspection.

Corrections

Email 6520118@qq.com with the page URL, the disputed wording and a supporting manufacturer or official reference. Include the vehicle year, engine and market when relevant. Do not send private account credentials or a full VIN. Substantive guide changes should update the revision date; dates are not refreshed merely to appear recent.

Advertising and measurement

Advertisement areas are labeled and separate from lookup controls. Advertising does not determine a code definition. We do not ask readers to click ads to support the site. Anonymous aggregate request counts and performance samples help us improve the pages; these do not measure unique people or confirm AI citations. Performance samples contain metric categories and ratings, without your worksheet entries, VIN or full referral URL.

Consent choices

Where a consent message is required, advertising choices are handled by the site’s configured consent provider. Browser privacy controls and blocking extensions may also affect advertising. See our privacy page for the site’s data practices.
